Hair Loss

It may have started out with just some extra hairs on the brush or sink. Then the few started to turn into more, and more everyday. And now, when you look at the mirror, you see more of the scalp than the hair. Then it hits you, what could have possibly happened to you? What could you have done to prevent this?

It’s normal to lose fifty to one-hundred hairs every day; this takes part of the “hair renewal” process. But most people will experience extreme hair loss at one point in their life. Hair loss is usually an issue that only adults worry about, but in some cases even teens experience hair loss too, and this may indicate that something is going on.

Hair loss or baldness generally refers to too much loss of the hair from the scalp that may be the result of different factors. Some of the hair loss cause includes medical conditions or illnesses, medications, hormones, child birth, birth-control pills, styling and hair treatments, disruption of hair-growth cycle, poor nutrition, male-pattern baldness, and other health conditions.

There are several types of hair loss and the most common include Alopecia areata, Telogen effluvium, and Male Pattern Hair Loss. Patch hair loss is the result of Alopecia areata disorder that causes the follicles of the hair to stop hair production. The most common symptom of this hair loss type is the sudden loss of hair on small patches.

However, there are also other types of hair loss caused by health conditions and drug-induced hair loss, such as Accutane hair loss, Zoloft hair loss, Prozac hair loss, postpartum hair loss, hypothyroid hair loss, Thyroid hair loss, and others.

Since hair loss has been seen as a concerning problem for many, more and more researches has been focused on finding ways to counter the condition and its causes. A hair loss treatment that involves the use of treatment products such as an herbal hair treatment or Propencia hair treatment is often the solution of those suffering from hair loss. On the other hand, some people find the hair loss treatments through surgery and medical techniques such as laser hair treatment and hair transplant, more effective.

In spite of modern-day advancements with medical technology, a number of people who suffer from hair loss still choose natural hair loss treatment. Nevertheless, hair loss medications are being prescribed by medical professionals to treat some cases of hair loss, particularly those due to genes or heredity. On milder cases of hair loss, hair loss shampoos are available in the market. Although some find hair loss shampoos ineffective, others are happy about results.

Hair loss affects both men and women; however, when it happens to women, it can be quite an emotionally painful and embarrassing condition. Preventing some of the things that may cause it and immediately treating the condition is very important.

Hair loss today isn’t something that you “have to live with”. With the many innovations in medical techniques, researches, and products that have been developed presently, hair loss is already an issue that you have a “choice” to live with.
